UV radiation is increasingly used for technical and biomedical applications. One focus of investigations are possible damages of UV radiation to human beings or nature caused by the depleted ozone layer. Filters and beamsplitters of mso jena enable the analysis and optimal use of exactly defined proportions of the UV radiation.

mso jena develops and manufactures interference filters for separation of the UV-A (400 - 320 nm), UV-B (320-280 nm) and UV-C (280-200 nm) spectral ranges. The filter transmittance is > 80% in the passbands, and the filter blocking includes the visible part of the spectrum. The spectral position of passbands can be adjusted to particular requirements of the application. The blocking is obtained by the reflectance of the interference coating, thus avoiding thermal damage to the filter. Consistent with the UV-filters, dichroic beamsplitters are available, which excel by almost zero losses in the reflected and transmitted spectral range.
